This one is purely for Gopichand fans and for those who like commercial pot-boilers with a message.
Despite the commercial elements, 'Pantham' would've worked if only the screenplay and narrative were a tad bit tighter. Chakravarthy, who worked as a screenplay writer for 'Jai Lava Kusa', made his directorial debut with this one and while he does manage to convey his message by the end, he could�ve chosen an effective, maybe even a non-commercial path to do so. Social message told commercially
Pantham is a passable social drama with showcases a decent message. Even though the story is outdated, director Chakri has made sure that there is some fun in the first half and climax is satisfactory. The film has a chance to do well in the B and C centers but the multiplex audience will find things quite routine, hence making this film just an average watch this weekend.(more)
