Renuka Shahane and Sharman Joshi shine in uneven drama

Everyone plays it quite competently, despite the predictable beats. Nice to see Shahane, who aims for naturalness despite some stodginess in the way her part is written. And I always enjoy Sharman Joshi, and wonder why this terrific actor doesn't get more work in the movies.(more)

Renuka Shahane and her lovely co-stars shine a light on simple twists of fate

The cast is uniformly good. While the rare big-screen appearance by Shahane is the centerpiece of 3 Storeys, each of her co-stars is a pleasure to watch. Debutant Aisha Ahmed is a commendable find, and the presence of both Masumeh and Sharman Joshi here raises the question I asked earlier about Ms Shahane: Why on earth do we not see more of these talented artistes in films? For them, and much else, 3 Storeys is time well spent.(more)

Convenient yet engaging thriller

Renuka Shahane is flawless. Her laughter, wit, pain and emotions are perfect. Pulkit Samrat is too good in his brief role. Richa Chadha looks apt as the sultry siren. Himanshu is okay. Masumeh had a dismal run at the box office earlier, but she bounces back with this film and shocks with her performance. You could feel her pain of being in an abusive relationship. Sharman Joshi is a great actor and in this one too he impresses with his act. Debutante Ankit Rathi does a fair job for his first film.(more)

Renuka Shahane's Film Is Worth Your Time

Towards the end of the film, the narrator asserts that duniya ki tarah kahani chalti rehti hai (like the world at large, stories never stop) and that there is no such thing as "a perfect end". Point well taken, but considering all the beginnings and endings, comings and goings, and hopes and setbacks that constitute 3 Storeys, the film could have done with a stronger culmination. It meanders to a close, leaving the audience more flummoxed than intrigued.(more)

3 Storeys cleverly demonstrates the art of skillfully telling a story wherein all the loose ends of a plot are tied together into a neat whole.

Watch it because fact is stranger than fiction, but fiction when narrated well, can make movie watching an immersive experience. (more)
