SOTY 2 doesn't have that Ishq wala love, but there is ample dosti, high school drama and cool stuff to keep you going. It's always fun rooting for the underdog and you'll find yourself doing that here, too. There's not much to fuss over, but for the young campus generation, it's a fun and breezy watch. With enough lessons in styling and fashion (out of syllabus, of course).(more)

Tiger's acting or plot clich's - what's the worst part of this film?
SOTY 1 chose to spend more time on its characters' bodies, make-up and wardrobes, its soundtrack and dance routines than on its writing, but proved to be entertaining in its own limited fashion. SOTY 2 seems not to even try.(more)

Student Of The Year 2 also flunks every test on the parameters of cinematic crafting. For a genuine lover of Hindi popular cinema, which, when done right, can yield enough joys to justify the price of a ticket, it is more trauma than drama.(more)

What Do We Show To The God Of Bad Movies? #SOTY2
I don't mind cheesy Dharma movies (loved the part 1) but this one is just a needless sequel. They could've titled this as 'Not-A-Student Of The Year', and still, it would've have been equally bad.(more)

In Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday's film, textbooks are props and props are stars
The film lacks drama, conflict and narrative tension, with dialogues written for mannequins. The atrociously fit Gul Panag shows up as a sports coach allegedly horny for fitness, but by the climax shakes her head as if unable to bear these childish shenanigans in the guise of sport.(more)
