The gem of this film is, of course, Anushka Shetty. She plays Bhaagamathie with such grace and talent that it leaves us in awe of her performance. That one scene where she stylishly drapes her shawl shows her screen presence. If anyone has doubts that she can carry a film on her shoulders, Bhaagamathie is the answer.(more)

A box office venture
The director has lured the audience with a taste of Arundahati in the trailer , though his focus is presenting glabour doll of Anushka to get advantage of her popularity in recent Bahubali exposure. The film races further with the Anushka entry into Bhagmati bungalow and thriller effet begins in second half driving the audiance to frenzy in the climax .Overall Bhagmati is perhaps the first hit film of 2018 Sankranti season(more)

The story moves forward at a brisk pace and there's enough element of surprise and suspense in 'Bhaagamathie', like any good thriller should have. And for that, director Ashok deserves credit. The only place where the director falters is while ensuring the horror element works, because without it, 'Bhaagamathie' is just like a beverage without the fizz.(more)
