Sidharth Malhotra, Jacqueline Fernandez's Film Is Sundar But Not Susheel
The screenplay is peppered with scenes of romantic banter between the lead pair and ominous confrontations between the hero and his pursuers. The hero, in both avatars, delivers witty lines without batting an eyelid and the heroine responds in kind and then some. But despite the footage that Jacqueline Fernandez gets, the character she essays does not evolve into a woman of substantial significance. Not to be left behind, the baddies too attempt to don comic cloaks. Unfortunately, the all-round cheerfulness is to no avail: it cannot brighten up a pretty but rather dull film.(more)

Sidharth Malhotra takes you on a risky ride, but it�s worth it
A Gentleman is not a flawless film, it is full of cliches and typecasts the characters - be it casting black men as the foot soldiers of the villain, their language or even the ringtone of his phone. Even the climax action sequence conforms to decades old cliche - the hero�s anger is at its worst when poked about the heroine. The songs of A Gentleman also disrupt the narrative and do not take the story any further.(more)

Movie Review
Sidharth plays the two parts with distinctive skills and puts his charm to good use. Jacqueline�s sincerity is palpable and she makes for a breezy addition here, but her role is unnecessary. Hussain Dalal provides comic relief and Darshan Kumar�s one-note villainous act is satisfactory. (more)

Despite Cool Action, It Fails To Impress Because Of Its Half-Baked Plot
After having done films like Shor in the City, Go Goa Gone and Happy Ending, the film�s director duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K. (widely known as Raj and DK) have tried their hand in the thriller genre with A Gentleman. After having to start off on an impressive note in the first half, the audiences expect the film to have all the elements of a thriller. (more)

Raj and DK meticulously tick off all the tropes of an action comedy, hitting their stride only by mid-point and serving up their brand of irreverent comedy blended with action in the second half. This includes an unabashed objectification of the fit Malhotra/ Rishi who seems equally happy to show off his abs and pecs and a delightful scene with Kavya�s parents checking out Gaurav�s credentials.(more)

The action moves from splashy Miami to grungy Mumbai, and we see Malhotra swing from being a law-abiding home-owner who drives under the speed limit to a sharp-shooter who kills under orders.(more)

Sidharth Malhotra in his dual act of Gaurav and Rishi gives a fine performance . He makes sure that he plays those character as distinctly as possible. Jacqueline Fernandez has never looked this hot in any of her previous films. She is a sight for the sore eyes. Suniel Shetty has a great screen presence in his limited role. And his reinvented avatar is indeed godly. Darshan Kumar is fine. Amit Mistry gets a few chuckles. A scene featuring Rajit Kapoor and Supriya Pilgaonkar is funny. (more)

Movie Review
Raj Nidimoru, Krishna DK and Sita Menon's story shows promise initially but later turns haphazard. Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK's screenplay handles the complex narrative well in the first half but overall, it could have been better and more sensible. Things are too unconvincing in the film. In the Thailand heist sequence, the security officers run behind Team Rishi while the locker remains exposed in the open. Rishi exercises heavily and follows up his work out eating Ching's noodles.
