Mister a mistake by Srinu Vaitla

The only saving grace is the photography by Guhan. In fact, the visuals are extraordinary. Music by Mickey J Mayer is average. Varun Tej looks good and fits the bill of an NRI. Lavanya Tripati does well, but her outfits are just horrible. Hebah Patel is just okay and Raghu Babu and Srinivas Reddy provide some mild entertainment. The other comedian, Prudhvi, is a major waste as the director has been unable to use him properly. Overall, Mister is another mistake by Srinu Vaitla. It has no strong story, has a clichd screenplay, and too many characters. Except for a few laughs here and there, the film has nothing much to offer.(more)

Mister Movie Review

The only relief is the beautiful visuals, courtesy cinematographer KV Guhan. The frames are spectacular, especially the scenes shot in Spain and in Chikmagalur. With not many plus points in the final tally, Mister figures in the average, one-time watch category.(more)

Another Dud

The only positive points of the movie are bearable first half and cinematography. All in all, Sreenu Vaitla has not changed as director. He has not come out from his regular format and dished out another boring story. Either class audiences or mass audiences may not like "Mister". A total waste effort.(more)

Sreenu Vaitla's attempt to 'reinvent' his style is a chaotic mess

Mister is indeed a big change and different compared to Sreenu Vaitla's career. But it's not in the direction which would make us want to admire his touch of brilliance that made him who he is in the first place. More than anything, the film serves as a reminder that you could shoot in the most breathtaking locales of Ooty, Chikmagalur and Spain, but if you have nothing interesting to say then what's the whole point of the journey. It is a maze which will challenge you at every turn. Good luck figuring it out.(more)

Missed Opportunity

Mister is one film which is only good in parts. There is some decent fun during the first half and also has a good star cast to support. But it is the execution which looks weak as the entire second half is disoriented and goes off track completely. Finally, if you do not mind the routine story and are okay with some over the top proceedings, you can give this film a shot only if you have nothing else to do. But for others who are looking for some thing interesting, look out for other options as well.(more)

An overloaded bus

In the end, one is left with questions. Was this the story given by the writer? Or did elements get thrown in at random? Wed never know.(more)
