"Guru" for Venkatesh's terrific performance and also for the newcomer Ritika. The movie is a good sports drama that we hardly get to see on Telugu screen. It may not go well with mass audiences but it may work for A Center audiences.(more)

Guru � Emotional Sports Drama
Guru is definitely Venkatesh�s career best performance to date. The star hero leads by example and shows what kind of films an actor in his age should attempt. The intense drama, Ritika Singh�s performance, and racy boxing matches are huge assets. Guru will surely be liked by the overseas audience for its class taking but we need to see how the masses embrace it. If you ignore the slightly slow pace here and there, Guru is one film which will surely impress you and ends up as an entertaining watch this summer.(more)

Guru � Decent Sport Movie!
Guru is definitely a good content movie with a single emotion and that�s sport. Director Sudha has been successful in convincing audience about a girl who rose from low to high. The dialogues at times are striking and the intense climax is a plus. The interval bang is another asset which will make the audience crave for the second half.(more)

Ritika Singh is the star of this Venkatesh movie
Overall, it is a good watch. It is a good sports drama with an important message. Venkatesh's frustration with the politics in the sports committee, Ramudu's rapport for her coach, and the dialogues are the highlights of this film. Ritika Singh did manage to steal the show, yet again. Venkatesh has managed to make this his own � gruff at places and soft at others.(more)
