Great Grand Masti is a fun weekend watch and one of the better ones we've seen this year. Go guffaw!
The director makes his men stay dedicated to the goofy gags, which they pull off effortlessly. The lame innuendos, the silly jokes and humour about the genitals are judiciously packed into the script. Some of them will get you laughing and others might make seethe with rage. Be prepared to bear a lot of overacting. Aftab seems possessed by the spirit of Ranjit (he even sounds like him). Sanjay Mishra takes his gyaan from Karan Johar ( 'Har pal yahan, jee bhar jiyo. Yeh dastaan, kal ho na ho?' - he sermonizes). The film's ladies are reduced to mere caricatures who are either nagging their 'bitter' halves or observing Karva chauth vrats. (more)

This offensively unfunny, grating thing�s not a film
Rautela is made to rant, shimmy and shake in old-Bollywood vamp style. At least she has something to do, poor thing. As opposed to Deshmukh, Oberoi and Shivdasani, who are handed out such deathless lines as: �baahar ki biryani aur ghar ki daal bhi nahin milti.� A village they fetch up in is called �Doodhawadi�, and one of them comes up with �let�s milk this opportunity�, not once but twice. A dish of chicken is divided into �breast pieces� and �leg pieces�. And so on, and on.(more)

Neither great, nor grand with zero masti
Great Grand Masti had positioned itself as an adult comedy with an added zing of horror. So obviously one couldn�t go looking for cerebral humour. Crudity, vulgarity, titillation, infantility is all one expected but also hoped against hope for it to deliver a few risqu� laughs. No such luck. Banal and boring is all you get.(more)

Watching this? The joke's on you
It seems highly ridiculous that the producers think this is what the audience want. That this will make money, and it just might. It also makes one sad for the audience, who are taken for granted like this and serviced with one trashy film after the other in the name of 'family entertainers'.(more)

GREAT GRAND MASTI fails to capitalize on the strong franchise value on the account of poor script which hardly offers any masti or entertainment to the audience. At the box office, its prospects appear extremely weak.(more)
