Koratala Siva may have made a family-oriented action film that is cliche-ridden but he has shown NTR Jr in a different avatar in Janatha Garage.
Janatha Garage may not be one of director Koratala Siva's best films but it is a film that has its moments where Mohanlal and NTR Jr shine. Janatha Garage may fix people's problems on reel but at 2 hrs and 42 mins, one's engine starts to buckle in real. It provides a ride that is entertaining for the most part.(more)

This Janatha Garage might give everyone a hand in repairs but they need a wee bit of repair themselves for sure. But that's no reason to miss the film.
Janatha Garage, it has become pretty evident that NTR has chosen a path for himself. Away from the rut of formulaic commercial cinema, at a distance from the "accepted" form of entertainment, he's daring to look at himself in a new avatar. If Temper and Nannaku Prematho saw step out of his comfort zone into a new path, with Janatha Garage, he walks another mile. There's a scene, in particular, where Samantha and NTR have a moment of separation, and it becomes clear why NTR is one of the best actors in the industry today. While Janatha Garage might come across as an action drama, at the core, it is a family's story. Of love, togetherness, betrayal and a lot more.(more)

Emotional action drama
Janatha Garage is not your regular popcorn entertainer which Tollywood churns out every week. It is a character-driven film where the onus is on serious emotions. Though NTR performs brilliantly, Mohan Lal gets a prominent role and this might not go well with NTR's fans. The film will appeal to the general audience more than the fans. Finally, if you ignore the predictable story line, you may give this film a shot.(more)

Lacks emotional impact!
First half of the film runs in a passive mode till the leads meet at interval. Second half has a few engaging scenes, but becomes flat as climax approaches. A film of this type (lacking entertainment (comedy) and glamour (romance)) needs an extremely good emotional impact to work well with audiences. Plus points of the film are NTR, Mohanlal and characterizations. On the flipside, an engaging conflict point and emotionally charged climax/pre-climax is missing. We have to wait and see how this film coming from a director of two blockbusters and an actor who delivered two good recent films fare at box office!(more)

Needs Some Repairs
The movie is the story of Koratala Siva which is not at all new. All in all, the movie can be watched for some moments in the second half and NTR's terrific performance. Not a good movie but not totally bad either.(more)

Janatha Garage is major feast to movie buffs and especially to NTR fans.
The movie has got everything whatever a fan needs on overdose. NTR's complete makeover and character will mesmerize the audience. The movie has also some power-packed action performances which are sure to thrill the audience. Overall, Janatha Garage is a good message oriented mass entertainer.(more)
