A Contrasting Romantic Tale
Shaad Ali comes up with a faithful remake of O Kadhal Kanmani in the form of Ok Jaanu, perhaps a tad too faithful as it�s neat cut, copy and paste job. However the film doesn't manage to be as charming as the original, making you feel a little disappointed especially if you've seen O Kadhal Kanmani.(more)

Shraddha, Aditya keep the Mani Ratnam romance alive
Watch it if you believe in love, and watch it if you don�t. Fact is, Ok Jaanu is probably one of the most heart-warming romances you will ever see in Bollywood. And as for being a love story that portrays the meaning of true life partners, the last good one we saw was over a decade ago � Baaghban (2003), starring Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini.(more)

Why don't filmmakers trust their audiences more? And yes, here's a tip: you cannot plonk brands in the middle of the frame and stay classy. Shaad Ali�s copy Ok Jaanu, with a screenplay by Ratnam, is faithful but pale and predictable, and doesn�t lift off the screen.(more)

OK JAANU is a decent love story which works only in parts mainly because of the chemistry between Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor. At the box-office, the film will mainly appeal to the youth, as it makes for a decent date movie.(more)
