Haunting and Captivating in Equal Terms
Ezra sees Jay K make a confident debut as a director and it is a film that looks visually pleasing and is quite unique for a horror film from Indian cinema, not just Malayalam. If you can look forward to watching a good film and not focus on the scary moments alone, higher is the possibility of getting to appreciate the film.(more)

A film with infinite possibilities cast away like a corpse in the sea`
The trouble with Malayalam films seems to be the stubbornness to look back at crypts of old movies instead of the cinema in the maker�s mind. That this was a film with infinite possibilities is not a criticism but an expression of regret.(more)

True Horror Is Here!
Ezra might not appeal to the audiences, who are quite familiar with the international horror films. But for the common Malayali audiences who are yet to experience the real horror thriller genre, it is a totally delightful watch.(more)

An interesting blend of Prithviraj, a Jewish spook and forbidden love
A hat tip to Vivek Ranjit too for remembering to subtitle the signage in Ezra. Too many writers of subs forget that if a viewer cannot understand a language in its spoken form, chances are they cannot read it either. One suggestion for Ranjit, since he seems to care enough: keeping in mind the needs of hearing-impaired viewers, next time please also subtitle English dialogues. Almost no one does that.(more)

An engaging one-time watch
Ezra is far from great but is a good attempt. With better writing and lesser length this could perhaps have been in a different league. In the current form, it's a fairly engaging one-time watch. (more)
