Crass & Cold
Guntur Talkies ended up as a disappoinment with poor standards of storytelling. It is more disturbing, since it comes from an award-winning film-maker. Give it a watch if you are looking for an adult comedy film in Telugu. (more)

Just OK
Guntur Talkies fails to live up to all its expectations and hype. Even though the film was promoted to be a new age crime comedy, the execution is quite ordinary and routine. Except for the superb performance by Naresh and sensuous avatars of Rashmi and Shraddha Das, this film has nothing much interesting to offer and ends up as just an ok watch this weekend.(more)

Strictly For Adults
Overall, the director has tried to present a crime comedy to attract a section of audiences who can enjoy such tease by heroine Rashmi and unabashed use of adult language. For general audience, the episodes look very cheap in taste. Even in most scenes Naresh acts seem downright silly. Also nothing happens in 60 percent of the movie except these silly acts. This is director Praveen Sattarrus attempt to get a success by hook or crook. His film Chandamama Kathalu won a National Award earlier. All in all, Guntur Talkies is low-standard comedy that can be enjoyed by a section of audience for its sexual tease. (more)

Over-indulgent
As performances go, Naresh and Siddu walk out with laurels. Naresh is bang on as a sexually frustrated middle-aged man, who reads soft porn in toilet after crying at seeing Siddu's romance with Rashmi. Siddu is good in the role of a youngster with no scruples. Shraddha Das as Revolver Rani is bold. Raghu Babu, Raja Ravindra, Snigdha, Tagubothu Ramesh, and others don't make much of an impact. Fish Venkat is a trivial exception, though. Ram Reddy's cinematography makes the film a nice spectacle. Sri Charan Pakala's music passes muster. The BGM is apt, though. A done-to-death idiom, all that Guntur Talkies has to offer are doses of over-indulgent doubles entendres.(more)

Rashmi Gautam is there to justify the 'A' tag that the film has got. Her silence through most of her role conveys much. Since the first half of the film is not all that engaging, it might get onto the nerves of the audience.(more)
