A cliche galore in 'Simhasanam'

What we really sympathise is with its poor producer, who still doesn't seems to know what will sell in the current scenario. With no proper business plans, releasing the movie in a poor month known for its low collections could be the biggest risk that he has taken in his life...On the whole, this 'Simhasanam' is another terrible waste of a terrific opportunity and money. Disappointingly Cliche'd!(more)

Simhasanam is at best a spoof of some of his own earlier hits. The film doesn't work because it's hard to empathize with any of the characters and the lead actors fail to rise above the flawed script. With larger than life characters seen in umpteen films, awful situations, melodrama and irritating dialogues, this one mostly turn out as unintentionally funny. Shaji, who has scripted the film as well, has made some kind of a curious compilation of some of those already popular scenes from a few select movies.(more)

Simhasanam is disappointing

There's nothing much to say about the two leading ladies, Vandana and Aishwariya Devan, who vie for the hero's love, and dance with him in a couple of numbers. It is high time Shaji Kailas reinvented himself rather than just recycling his old films in the hope of repeating their success.(more)
