Below Average

Geethanjali shows why the viewers, who should have been fed up after being repeatedly taken for ride, are vying to do so. Also, it is high time that the authorities deal with unauthorized and blatant rip offs in a strict way. At around two hours and thirty minutes, Geethanjali is a sheer test of your tolerance. Watch it if you want to, but don't forget take Saridon, as a migraine is guaranteed!(more)

Geethanjali disappoints

The makers of the film insist that it is not a sequel to Manichitrathazhu, but Mohanlal is made to go through similar situations in this film, so the connection to the original Sunny Joseph is inevitable. . Innocent enacts a comic role similar to the one in the original. But, his efforts go in vain as this film lacks the substance of the original. . Geethanjali is disappointing. It is a lacklustre effort that is not a patch on the original. (more)

Is a letdown

'Geethanjali' stands on a weak script, which scares and shocks in bits and spurts. The film rides on lal's brand value, but its writing plays the spoilsport. Disappointing!(more)

Geethanjali plays around a script that is constantly unsteady

Geethanjali, though mostly built around the quirky psychiatrist Sunny Joseph, draws heavily from Manichithrathazhu where intrigue springs from a frighteningly gothic air and psychological frailties. A young couple - Anoop and Geetha - return home from Mumbai to take care of Geetha's sick mother. It's a giant mansion flaunting a splendid rocky architecture, wooden staircases and broodingly dark interiors with a sea raging behind. The inmates in the house are beset by a wave of ominous events and mystery has to be unravelled by Sunny Joseph, the bearded, bespectacled doctor played by Mohanlal.(more)
