Bhaskar the Rascal

A vacation release, Bhaskar The Rascal is pure escapist cinema at its best.

'Adorable little darlings on a matchmaking mission for parents' is a plot tried, tested and tweaked enough in our films. Hatching innocent yet brilliant schemes and mouthing 'too-smart-for-their-age' lines, they often win hearts too. This is more or less the premise of Bhaskar The Rascal, besides being a star vehicle for Mammootty with a ravishing Nayanthara as pillion-rider. (more)

Masala Entertainer

The stars of the show along with them are the two young actors, Master Sanoop and Baby Anikha, who are just adorable. JD Chakaravarthy in an important role is a big letdown. Bhaskar The Rascal may not have many surprises in store but is a nice option for sure this festival season. For all the fans of the lead stars, this could turn out to be a nice treat. Enjoy this one!(more)

A Decent Comedy Entertainer

Mammootty is at his best as Bhaskar in Bhaskar The Raskal. Then it is Nayathara, She perfected her role with charm and grace. Baby Anikha and Sanoop just lived as Aadi and Shivani. Both of them have acted very competitively. One a negative note, the movie becomes staid as it goes on to the second part. The climax too lacks punch and the way the movie ends, makes one feel like it is just another run of the mill movie with the same old ingredients. The other state villain also couldnt do his part well. If one takes away the comic and action elements, the movie will appear drab. It is the way in which comic elements combined with relationships that make the movie a perfect family entertainer.(more)

Mammootty fails to impress in Bhaskar The Rascal

Bhaskar The Rascal teams up two stalwarts - Mammootty and director Siddique, but we suggest you take out a DVD of their earlier movies if you want to enjoy their work.(more)
