No much flavour in this masala
'Spanish masala' is strictly for those who can endure old age melodramas, but not definitely in the league of a typical Laljose film. As usual families may find the movie more interesting, as the new generation audiences will find it hard to locate that promised 'taste of love'.(more)

spanish masala is bland
The storyline is stale and predictable depending only on Dileep's buffoonery to hold our attention. There is not even a strand of freshness here. It looks more like a promotional video for Spanish tourism directed Lal Jose. Apart from Dileep, nobody else gets an opportunity to grab our attention. The Austrian beauty Daniela Zacherl is just a mannequin. Biju Menon as the brooding caretaker of the diplomat's household has nothing much to do performance wise.(more)

If you are looking a film that really shakes you up with its novelty, Spanish Masala is certainly not the one to pick. Still, it may be a watchable fare for those who aren?t really bothered about good quality filmmaking and are quite happy to enjoy thoroughly ordinary movies modeled on TV soaps.(more)
