Ajay Devgn's directorial is all about its stunning visuals and breath taking action scenes
Shivaay has spectacular action scenes, perhaps the best we have seen this year. Watch it for that and the emotional storyline of a father-daughter relationship.(more)

Ajay Devgn climbs mountains, the film doesn't
Devgn's stunts are a treat to watch, but thats about it. Shivaay treks trough high altitudes, but the film keeps waiting for him to return to the valley with a string attached to his legs.(more)

Ajay Devgn film is a bloated star vehicle
The only thing your eye can rest on is the spectacular scenery. The rest is a bloated star vehicle.(more)

Shivaay is an absolute catastrophe
Devgn might believe Shivaay is a piece of Shiv, but there's an obvious typo there. To invoke a truly superb avalanche-filled film, this one may as well have been called Force Manure.(more)

Ajay Devgn's visually rich film lacks Lord Shiva's famed light-footedness
Yes sir, Messrs Editor, Writers and Director, I am willing to sit with you and identify every needless scene and shot you could have done away with, without charging a fee for the expertise of being a viewer because there is a kernel of an engaging film somewhere in this maze you have created; and because Shiva the Destroyer and Regenerator, dancer of the Tandav, lover of Parvathi, father of Ganesh and Karthikey, unapologetic smoker of you-know-what, Bholenath, unabashed sexual being, composed yet combustible god, source of all life, whether in an ancient or modern avatar, deserves better than this heavy-handed, over-stretched film.(more)

Shivaay seems high on never ending action and loud emotion
Basically it all boils down to the fact that had the film been a little crisper with its run time, it would have been much enjoyable. The forcefully dragged climax turns into a complete snoozefest.(more)
