Bad cop and good cop

First half of the film is alright. Second half is engaging with entertainment. Climax should have been more impactful. Plus points of the film are Kalyan Ram and mass entertainment. On the flip side, it�s a normal story which we don�t expect from Kalyan Ram�s movies. On a whole, Kalyan Ram�s Patas has enough content to click with masses and general audiences.(more)

Masala Entertainer

Patas will surely end up as Kalyan Ram�s biggest hit till date. Hero�s powerful characterization and huge doses of entertainment right throughout are major assets of the film. All those who do not mind the routine story line and are looking out for sheer fun, then this commercial potboiler should not be missed.(more)

Much Needed break for Kalyanram

The first half of the film is filled with bits of comedy and dialogues aimed at making audiences laugh out loud, The second half of the film primarily works on the emotional bonding and later shifts to comedy with limited of hilarious scenes (Swach Puthr and scenes between Kalyanram n gang). The mercurial screenplay doesn't give director the necessary support. This is a film that needed to maintain one mood throughout but it keeps changing its mind at regular intervals. And to top of it the climax was emotionless and dragged. On the whole, Pataas is not a film that can be highly recommended, but it's a film for those who love commercial entertainers with decent material.(more)

Comedy Entertainer

Debutant Director needs a pat for his effort in presenting routine story in appealingly different style. His relying on comedy has paid him. Though the story sounds as a routine cop entertainer, it was differently dealt. The first half was racy with introduction of characters, songs and comedy. Kalyan Ram joining hands with corrupt politicians and their settlements is fun to watch.(more)
