Yevade Subramanyam isn't a film where you'll laugh out loud, despite its subtle humour
There's something magical and pristine about the mountains that makes you question you about your life. Perhaps, that's why a lot of people go on a spiritual quest deep into the mountains, hoping that they would find the answer to, possibly, the most important question of their lives - What's the purpose of my existence in this universe? To have such an experience is surreal, to say the least. This is precisely the crux of Nag Ashwin's superbly-layered Yevade Subramanyam, which traverses the life of a young man, who tries to find who he really is.(more)

Yevade Subramanyam is a nice movie and you may watch it!
First half of the film offers fun. Second half is about self discovery and visiting Doodh Kashi. This is a film that appreciates simple things in life and gives the real definition of living. At the same time, its not a preachy film. Most of the film is narrated with humor. Plus points of the film are profound philosophy, performances, dialogues and sensible direction. On the flipside, the episodes leading to Doodh Kashi should have been more sharp. (more)

A Dim Tale of Self-Discovery
The biggest mistake I made was watching the theatrical trailer of Yevade Subrahmanyam. If youve seen the trailers, youve seen almost the 40-50 minutes of the film because the bits that dont make it to the trailers are mere fill in the blanks to the viewers. Although the entire film is foreseeable, the climax deviates from the regular zone making the film two notches below what it might have been promising. The problem though is that the narrative throughout the film seems drab and flat, and thus the film fails to stay with audience by the end. All in all, Promising promos of Yevade Subrahmanyam will lure the audience to go and watch this rom-com but after viewing the complete picture, you will feel you are in the middle of dim tale of self-discovery.(more)
