Arjun Rampal, Shraddha Kapoor perform well but the original MAGIK is sorely missing
Rock On 2 is like that stomach ache we get for liking a chocolate and then splurging too much on it. Even though the cast members are good, and the direction is decent, you cant scream like a fanboy during this performance, like you did eight years ago. Magik may have returned, but the original magic is sorely missing. Avoid, if you dont wanna get disappointed.(more)

Farhan Akhtar film flounders in its own depth
The only time Rock On 2 hits some Magik the name of their band, remember is when it lets its hair down and sings, decked all Beatles-style, at a perfect wedding, You know what I mean?.(more)

Rock On 2 Review
The script is a major downer. It is way too contrived, directionless and morose to hold your interest. With no strong conflict point to hold it all together, the story goes haywire. The narration tries too hard to manipulate your feelings and spoon-feed emotions by explaining the unsaid thoughts of the characters, depriving you the joy of discovering it for yourself. The music is shockingly weak. Barring the Usha Uthup track, it is not a patch on the former's iconic tracks. Having said that, we are still open to a third instalment, provided Magik finds a valid reason to reunite. After all, music needs to come from the heart for you to feel it. (more)

Rock On 2 is staggeringly dull!
Rock On 2's need to be profound by addressing North East alienation in the narrative would be laudable if it wasn't so ill conceived, cursory and pandering to the stereotypes of victim and victimizer. In its bid to cash on the claim of Shillong as India's rock capital, what comes through is a brand of righteousness that's more Bollywood than Magik.(more)

The band of boys weaves its magic again
Rock On 2 might not have a strong conflict in the storyline, but it definitely works as the narrative of a unique camaraderie among the boys. They have grown older, but havent lost their charm.(more)

Magik is back, but no Farhan-Shraddha magic here
Rock On 2 scores high in the cinematography and photography departments. Half of that credit should go to the ones who actually decided to take the film to Shillong and Uminuh. In terms of making an impact on its viewers, Rock On 2 will do nothing. The one thing it will do is boost the Meghalaya tourism. In all, watch Rock On 2 for the picturesque locales of Meghalaya. Else skip it.(more)
