Expect the Expected

Rabhasa would have been a far better film, had the screenplay been more liberal with expanding on key elements and developing the sub plot in a more engaging manner. Dont do to the theatres just by seeing the name of Jr NTR or Santosh Srinivas, who had directed a decent and funny family subject Kandireega. It is not known where all his skills in penning a decent story and screenplay have gone. The first half tests the patience of the audience and the second half is predictable, but works a bit due to Brahmanandams episodes in the middle. If youre Jr NTR fan, then Rabhasa comes with a one watch tag. But if you are looking for something different, its better to wait for its home edition.(more)

If you aren't a NTR fan you might just regret leaving home to watch this one.

In what seems like a first for an NTR Jr film, there isn't a reference to his legendary grandfather, NT Rama Rao, in the entire 162 minute runtime. Not a punch dialogue evoking the late matinee idol, no tokenistic veiled claim to his onscreen legacy or the Nandamuri family...not even an old hit song from a yesteryear classic remixed. The absence of the mandatory NTR reference is perhaps the most original part of this otherwise unremarkable film that dishes out every known cliche in lexicon of big ticket Tollywood entertainers. Rabhasa- Routine Mass Entertainer

Rabhasa is definitely not the blockbuster hit that NTR was desperately looking for. But some entertaining comedy and NTRs one man show, will surely make the general audience lap up this average entertainer during the festive season.(more)
