Although Bachchan Sr. has delivered unforgettable performances in his illustrious career, he never fails to surprise you with stellar acts again and again. He is the soul of BHOOTHNATH RETURNS, shining in several crucial sequences of the film. Boman Irani is fabulous as the power-hungry, shrewd politician, while Parth Bhalerao is the scene stealer, delivering a winning performance, despite sharing screen space with ace actors. The ensemble cast comprising Sanjay Mishra, Brijendra Kala, Usha Jadhav and Usha Nadkarni also deliver natural performances. Shah Rukh Khan and Ranbir Kapoor make cameo appearances, but they hardly leave any impact. Ditto for Anurag Kashyap. (more)

3 reasons why kids must watch this film
Too many mainstream Bollywood films suffer from the malaise of focusing only on the leads with little regard for side characters. Here, casting director Mukesh Chhabria has hand-picked a great set of character actors, such as Sanjay Mishra as a washed-up lawyer and Brijendra Kala as Bhau�s right-hand man. The script, written largely by Tiwari and Piyush Gupta, takes care to make characters ask the right questions and the acting across the board is largely restrained, making even the corny moments a lot more bearable than they otherwise would have been. Moview Review: Bhoothnath Returns -- I laughed out loud in a few bits, didn't mind some of it, and blanked out in the rest. Finally it was neither funny nor serious enough.(more)

Bhoothnath Returns, directed and co-written by Nitesh Tiwari, is overlong and overstretched.
Bhoothnath Returns belongs almost entirely to Parth Bhalerao. In his first Hindi film, the teenager delivers an exceptionally effortless performance. The ghost isn�t meaty enough to test a seasoned actor like Amitabh Bachchan. Bhoothnath Returns is a leisurely stroll in the park for him. Boman Irani�s mean politician caricature isn�t menacing enough to give anybody sleepless nights, leave alone a ghost who rocks. Will Bhoothnath Returns be able to bhooth-capture the box office? It might not lose its deposit, but it does not look like it is in with a chance to romp home with a big margi(more)
