Faithful rip-off from primal fear
It is a difficult task trying to find an upside to a film like Deewangee. There is nothing exciting about either the situations or the dialogues --- at least not for someone who already knows the story. Sadly, Ismail Darbar's music too lacks lustre, barring the romantic number. If you have not seen Primal Fear, you might want to watch Deewangee. But then, if you have to watch Deewangee, you may as well watch the original.(more)

A well-made film with a few loose ends nonetheless
DEEWANGEE has a novel story with several poignant moments as its USP. A well-made film with a few loose ends nonetheless, it has much to offer as compared to the vendetta fares and mushy love stories being dished out in the garb of entertainment. At the box-office, the impressive cast and the aggressive promotion have resulted in tremendous hype for the film, which in turn should translate into good business, keeping its INVESTORS smiling.(more)

Hat-trick of knock-out performances
During the shift from thriller to romance, the film goes fatally wrong. The madness gets out of hand, especially in the last half-hour of the film which is too laboured. The screenplay careens out of control, too many songs stymie the pace. The scene in which he switches from a good guy to one with ice in his veins, is splendid. After Company and The Legend Of Bhagat Singh, this one completes his hat-trick of knock-out performances.(more)

Curiosity factor ends in the first half itself
Deewangee`s curiosity factor ends in the first half itself, the premise of which has been borrowed. The second half falls into a predictable pace.Deewangee gives you two reasons to sit through the film. Ajay Devgan and Akshaye Khanna. Devgan maintains his track record for good performance with this film, it`s the latter`s handling of the role that amazes you. (more)

Tighter reign on the script in the second half
The film is very good. If only Anees Bazmee had kept a tighter reign on the script in the second half, Deewangee may have been amazing. All in all, Deewangee provides some good entertainment but it wont be winning any awards.(more)
