Fails to deliver the goods.
Although the storyline is predictable, the director tried to make it interesting by adding political angle to it. However he didn't get the screenplay right. The film has too many ups and downs in the narration. Subplots were not properly developed. (more)

'Daruvu' looks like a proper commercial entertainer packed with endless comedy but few minutes after the film begins, one realizes that the comedy is more mindless than endless. Moreover, the quality of humour was rather mass than meaningful.(more)

Daruvu is more sound than substance
Siva is heavily influenced by the Yamaloka films of the past like Yamaleela, Yamudiki Mogudu and Yamadonga, where the protagonist goes to Yamaloka and comes back to earth in another body. Daruvu treads the same path. (more)
