Detective Byomkesh Bakshy Trailer Review

Spectacular Sushant shines as a more spectacular detective!

After the very impressive teaser, comes out the scintillating trailer of Detective Byomkesh Bakshy starring Sushant Singh Rajput and directed by Dibakar Banerjee. The story is set in the war torn Calcutta during the 1940's and follows the first adventure of Byomkesh (Sushant Singh Rajput), fresh out of college, who pits himself against an evil genius in a world of murder, international political intrigue and seduction.

Banerjee’s  adaptation looks  thrilling and there is a greatly gripping music to support it by Sneha Khanwalkar. Along with the background score, the setting, characterization and their detailing are the most impressing things from the trailer. One would easily be taken back to the 40’s Bengal with the British period looks, monuments and the attires.

Sushant looks natural as Byomkesh Bakshi. This guy is immensely talented and easily carries off the witty, smart and wild character in the sneak peak. He also sports a darker complexion than usual. Anand Tiwari too looks set for a great supporting performance.

It is going to be one heck of a movie which is indicated with the very stylish dialogues scripted by the writer. ‘Aapka sach meri ek cigratte bhi nahi khareed sakta byomkesh babu’ and “Sach ke aap paas wala jhooth pakadna mushkil hota hai” are the favourite one from the trailer.

This is the first time Dibakar is collaborating with Yashraj, the biggest production banner of the film industry and looks set to extend his reach through brilliant cinematic experience for its audience in DBB.

Khosla Ka Ghosla, Oye Lucky Lucky Oye, Shanghai were his previous notable works. So with him and Sushant Singh Rajput portraying the iconic character of Bakshy, we sure are expecting the unexpected.
