Shamitabh team to honour Ilayaraja

The team of Shamitabh will be honouring Isaignani Ilayarja during the film's music launch today. Celebrating the success of the legendary music composer Ilaiyaraaja for completing 1000 films, the theme of the music launch is based around paying an ode to the Indian film industry. 

Ilaiyaraaja has composed music for over 5000 songs and hence the team of Shamitabh wants to make it memorable for him. Director R. Balki said, "We are celebrating 1,000 films of Ilayaraja, but I want to clarify that 'Shamitabh' is not Ilayaraja's 1,000th film. Southern director Bala's film is the 1,000th film of Ilayaraja." 

"Shamitabh" features Amitabh Bachchan, Dhanush and Akshara Hassan in pivotal roles. The film is set to hit the screens on February 6. The music launch of Shamitabh, will be held at a popular 5 star hotel in Mumbai today.
