Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor were in Dubai yesterday to promote their upcoming film Haider which is set to hit the screens on October 2. The duo have been busy promoting the film. A press conference was held in Grand Hyatt in Dubai as part of Haider promotions. The duo had interacted with the media and talked about their film.
During the press conference, Shahid Kapoor, who plays Hamlet in Haider said that he isn’t a fan of Shakespeare. He claims he didn’t enjoy watching the tragedy while young, but is convinced that director Vishal Bharadwaj’s film will reform those like him. “It’s a revenge family drama and there’s a strong dynamic of family and relationships. There’s an edginess and complexity to my role,” said Shahid Kapoor.
Shraddha Kapoor said, "I was thrilled. I could not believe Vishal Sir was signing me for such an intense movie. Like he believed that I could do the character of Arshia."
Haider is based on William Shakespeare's Hamlet and is set in Kashmir. It is the third installment of Vishal Bhardwaj's Shakespearean trilogy after Maqbool (Macbeth) and Omkara (Othello).
