Creature 3D Music Review - “Un-creative”

 Anup Pandey

Music: Mithhon, Tony Kakkar

1. Sawan Aaya Hai

Surprisingly, in an album majorly composed by Mithoon, Arijit Singh gets only one song which has been composed by a different composer- Tony Kakkar. Arijit and subtle instruments aside, Kakkar’s only song for the album is completely dated tune from the ‘90s. The remix (by DJ Shiva) makes it a little upbeat and pacy rather than trashing it with noise. Kakkar himself renders the “unplugged” version of it where he pushes nothing new and makes the song even more forgettable.

2. Hum Na Rahein Hum

Mithoon, Bhatt’s in-house composer, churns out a very mediocre tune here but gets Benny Dayal singing for it who does a fairly good job. The remix version (by DJ Notorious) offers regular party EDM; but when remixed with this sad song it remains neither.

3. Naam-E-Wafa

Liberally recycling his own template, Mithoon brings his standard melancholia to the soundtrack with this one. Farhan Saeed sounds passionately immersed into it until Tulsi Kumar finds her way to spoil. This one too has a pointless remix version, done by DJ Angel.

4. Ik Pal Yahi

This one has some soaring arrangements and Saim Bhat solely does justice to it. But it’s still something in Mithoon’s regular space which adds to the monotony of the album.

5. Mehboob Ki

Mithoon breaks the building up monotony with a peppier tune using shennai (synthesized, obviously), lighter percussions and his own inspired vocal chords for this one. However, the hook isn’t as catchy as it is trying to be.

Bottomline

With 5 songs and 4 remixes, Bhatt’s Creature 3D is highly excruciating and unoriginal soundtrack. It’s time Mithoon learnt the law of diminishing returns and stop recycling his templates.
