Why Vidya Balan said no to Sujoy Ghosh's Durga Rani Singh?

Kaahani directed by Sujoy Ghosh starring Vidya Balan in the lead role is a definitely a milestone film in Vidya's career. The Dirty Picture actor won laurels for her spectacular performance. 

One might be surprised that this ultimate combo of Sujoy Ghosh and Vidya Balan couldn't get together again for a new project. Sujoy Ghosh is all set to direct a new thriller film titled Durga Rani Singh and his first choice for the leading lady was Vidya Balan. Vidya Balan however had to turn down the offer with a heavy heart. Vidya Balan says it was really tough for her to say no Sujoy Ghosh's new film “Durga Rani Singh”.

“I am a little sad I couldn’t work in this project because we made ‘Kahaani’ together and we were like parents of ‘Kahaani’. It was a very difficult decision for me to say no (to ‘Durga Rani Singh’, but I was not keeping well so I couldn’t do it. I had no option,” said the National Award winning talent.

Kangana Ranaut was approached for the lead role in Ghosh’s film, after Vidya turned down the offer. The 'Queen' actor couldnt accomodate the film due to her current project commitments. The director is reportedly on the lookout for an apt leading lady for his film. Buzz is that Irrfan Khan has been roped in to play the lead role.

Vidya Balan is currently busy with the promotions of 'Bobby Jasoos'.
