The first teaser of Vishal's Magudam is here, and it opens on a striking note before plunging into a relentless barrage of action. The highlight is Vishal appearing in what seems to be multiple roles — a white-collar corporate professional, a street-level gangster of similar age, and a cold-blooded assassin who makes violence look effortless. Whether these characters exist across the same timeline or span different ones remains to be seen.

Magudam marks Vishal's debut behind the camera. He stepped in to direct the film last year following creative differences with Ravi Arasu, who originally helmed the project. Arasu continues to receive a story credit on the film.

Anjali and Dushara Vijayan play the female leads. Anjali's appearance in the teaser — blood-spattered face, sickle in hand — makes a strong statement about the weight her character carries in the narrative. The supporting cast includes Jayaprakash, John Vijay, Ajay, Vamsi Krishna, Abu Salim, Arjai, VJ Jhansi, Padam Kumar, and Sabhumon, among others.

On the writing front, Pon Parthiban is handling dialogues alongside Anandh Kumaresan for the Tamil version and Rajesh A Moorthy for the Telugu version. NB Srikanth edits the film, with G Durairaj as art director. The late RB Choudary's Super Good Films is bankrolling the project.

Magudam is set for a July theatrical release in Tamil, while the Telugu version will arrive as Makutam.
