Soori's upcoming sea-based action drama Mandaadi has been given a theatrical release date of September 4. Directed by Mathimaran Pugazhendhi, the film had wrapped production back in April this year.

Mandaadi draws its title from the term used for the leader of a fishing expedition team in the traditional sailing boat races held along the 100-kilometre stretch of Tamil Nadu's coastline — a sport that forms the heart of the film's story.

The film features an ensemble cast including Suhas, Mahima Nambiar, Sathyaraj, Achyuth Kumar, Sachana Namidass, and Ravindra Vijay alongside Soori. Elred Kumar of RS Infotainment — the banner behind Vetri Maaran's Viduthalai films — is producing Mandaadi.

On the technical front, GV Prakash handles the music, SR Kathir is behind the camera, Pradeep E Ragav takes care of edits, and the stunt department is helmed by Peter Hein, Dilip Subbarayan, and Mahesh Mathew.

Soori, who made his lead debut with Viduthalai, was last seen fronting Prasanth Pandiyaraj's family drama Maaman in 2025. He also has Ram's Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai, co-starring Nivin Pauly and Anjali, waiting in the wings.
