Sivakarthikeyan Says Seyon Will Carry the Spirit of Virumandi

Actor Sivakarthikeyan has hinted at the thematic flavour of his upcoming film Seyon, stating that the team is trying to recreate the elements audiences loved in Kamal Haasan’s Virumandi.

Speaking during the film’s production launch in Madurai, Sivakarthikeyan said the city itself has a unique power and added that Seyon aims to capture that raw energy on screen.

Speculation around the film’s connection to Virumandi began after Raaj Kamal Films International came on board as producer, along with references to the deity Virumandi in the film’s announcement material. Director Sivakumar Murugesan, known to be a passionate Kamal Haasan fan, had also earlier showcased similar influences in his debut film Thaai Kizhavi.

The announcement teaser suggested that Sivakarthikeyan’s character could either be possessed by or represent Lord Murugan/Virumandi. The film stars Bhagyashri Borse as the female lead, alongside Bala Saravanan and Aruldoss.

Produced by RKFI, Seyon is slated for a theatrical release in October.
