PUBLISHED DATE | 14/Apr/2026

The makers of Sanjay Dutt-starrer Aakhri Sawal have locked May 8 as the film’s release date. Directed by Abhijeet Mohan Warang, the film is pitched as an intense, politically-charged drama rooted in real events.

A new teaser, unveiled recently, hints at another unexplored chapter from contemporary history. It centers on a private meeting between Keshav Baliram Hedgewar and Mahatma Gandhi in 1934, promising a layered and dramatic take on their conversation. The glimpse suggests the film will delve into lesser-known perspectives and long-hidden truths.

The earlier teaser had already established the film’s ideological backdrop involving the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). With references to key moments like the ban on the RSS and narratives surrounding the Babri Masjid, Aakhri Sawal aims to pose bold questions and revisit debated chapters of India’s history.

Apart from playing the lead, Sanjay Dutt is also co-producing the film along with Nikhil Nanda under Nikhil Nanda Motion Pictures. The cast includes Amit Sadh, Namashi Chakraborty, Tridha Choudhury, and Neetu Chandra, with Sameera Reddy marking her return to the screen.

The film’s story, screenplay, and dialogues are penned by Utkarsh Naithani, while music is composed by Monty Sharma with lyrics by Kumar Vishwas.
