The release of Kartik Aaryan-starrer Naagzilla has been postponed. Directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba of Fukrey fame and written by Gautam Mehra, the film was initially slated for an August 14 release this year.
The makers have now shifted the film to February 12 next year, aiming for a Valentine’s weekend opening. With this move, Naagzilla also avoids a box office clash with Sunny Deol-starrer Lahore 1947, which is scheduled to hit screens on August 13.
A motion poster released earlier showcased Kartik in a striking avatar, with snakes wrapped around his legs and his back morphing into reptilian skin, hinting at the film’s quirky premise.
Billed as a high-concept comedy franchise, Naagzilla marks Kartik’s second collaboration with Dharma Productions after Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri. The film is backed by Karan Johar and Adar Poonawalla under Dharma Productions, in association with Mahaveer Jain Films.
