Prem Kumar Directs Fahadh Faasil in His Tamil Lead Debut

Fahadh Faasil has signed his first full-length lead role in a direct Tamil film, joining hands with director Prem Kumar Chandran, best known for ‘96’. The film will be an action thriller with a strong emotional touch.

Unlike his earlier antagonistic or supporting roles in Tamil cinema, this project will see Fahadh as the solo hero. He agreed to the film immediately after a 40-minute narration by Prem Kumar, who revealed the story had been with him for years. Shooting will begin in January 2026.

Fahadh has earlier appeared in films like Velaikkaran, Super Deluxe, Maamannan, and Vikram, but this marks a milestone as his first lead role in Tamil. Meanwhile, Prem Kumar, known for the emotional success of ‘96’ and Meiyazhagan, is set to explore the action genre with a tight narrative centered on Fahadh’s character.
