Aamir Khan Returns with 'Sitaare Zameen Par'- A Heartwarming Sequel with a Comedic Twist, Releasing June 20, 2025

Aamir Khan is all set to make his much-awaited comeback to the silver screen with ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’, the spiritual sequel to his 2007 critically acclaimed film ‘Taare Zameen Par’. Directed by RS Prasanna, the film is scheduled for a theatrical release on June 20, 2025.

While Taare Zameen Par sensitively portrayed the struggles of a child with dyslexia under the guidance of a compassionate teacher, Sitaare Zameen Par takes a fresh, uplifting approach. The upcoming film shifts focus to a new group of characters—people with different abilities, celebrating inclusivity through a lighthearted and humorous narrative. Aamir Khan himself described it as “ten steps ahead” in terms of theme, promising a heartfelt story about love, friendship, and life, this time wrapped in comedy rather than emotional drama.

Reportedly, Sitaare Zameen Par is the official remake of the 2018 Spanish film Campeones (Champions), which centers on a basketball coach who trains a team of players with intellectual disabilities. This marks Aamir’s second consecutive Hollywood remake, following Laal Singh Chaddha.

The film features music by the acclaimed trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, with lyrics penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya. It is produced by Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit under the Aamir Khan Productions banner.
