Alone is very much like R. Parthiban's 2022 movie Iravin Nizhal, in the sense that only one character appears on-screen for the entirety of the movie. The rest are just voices, and Alone comes with more than just regular ones. Starring Mohanlal as the one-man show, Alone released in theaters on January 26, 2023 and is now gearing up for its digital premiere. Disney Plus Hotstar streaming platform has confirmed the film's OTT release date to be March 3, 2023.
Written by Rajesh Jayaraman and directed by Shaji Kailas, Alone comes with a runtime of 2 hours and 2 minutes, and follows the story of a motivational speaker named Kalidasan (Mohanlal), who gets couped up in a high rise building during peak COVID lockdown. With no neighbours to interact, Kalidasan resorts to drinking and begins hearing voices of a mother and daughter.
