Gehraiyaan co-written and directed by Shakun Batra is a Hindi language multi-starrer which was a direct OTT release on Amazon Prime Video. Starring Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ananya Panday, Dhairya Karwa, Naseeruddin Shah and Rajat Kapoor in prominent roles, the domestic noir movie released on February 7, 2022 and recently marked a year since it became a talking point for both the good and the bad.

While it was known that Gehraiyaan was made during COVID-19, a recent VFX breakdown of the movie (released for the 1 year milestone) has revealed how the team managed production amidst peak pandemic. To the unversed, Gehraiyaan (meaning depths) is a film that has a lot of nautical elements to it like the beach, the ocean, boating, sailing and such. 

The thriller was initially planned to be shot at Sri Lanka but the pandemic meant no international travel for the team, hence they resorted to Goa due to similar landscapes. The VFX breakdown video, released by Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies company reveals how Shakun and team made immaculate use of the green and blue screens for most part of the movie. Even in restricted shooting conditions, they have brought out pristine visuals with their make.

For an outdoorsy film, it is indeed surprising to see that most of Gehraiyaan was shot indoors.
