Actor Tovino Thomas' upcoming movie Varavu is a a story about a present day small town, with mythological elements to it. Malayalam script writer Rakesh Mantodi is debuting as a director with this one and Chennai based Guna Balasubramanian who recently made a mark with his Tamil release Yennanga Sir Unga Sattam, is composing music for Varavu. 

The movie is Guna's Mollywood debut and the film is produced by Pradeepkumar under the banner Pathiyara Entertainments. The technical crew of this film also includes Vishwajith Odukkathil for cinematography and Baahubali fame PM Satheesh for sound design.
