Popular comedy actor Vivek who was admitted to the hospital yesterday after suffering a cardiac arrest has passed away, leaving the Tamil film fraternity and his fans in shock. The actor was 59.

Vivek known for conveying social messages through this comedy pieces, was also an advocate of making our environment as green as possible. The actor passed away at 4:35 AM in a private hospital this morning. 

Doctors have said that the sudden attack was due to an acute coronary syndrome with a cardiogenic shock. Vivek also had a 'mild elevated blood pressure.'

On Thursday, Vivek was was declared Tamil Nadu’s ambassador for creating public health messages after taking his Covid-19 vaccine from a government hospital. Test and CT reports post his heart attack showed that he did not have Covid-19 and doctors have also declared that the heart attack was not caused by the vaccine.
