The Hindi version of Thalaivi had a trailer release alongside the Tamil version today and lead actress Kanagana Ranaut was seen emulating former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayayalaithaa to the T in both videos.

The Hindi version of the trailer showcased more into the life of Jayalalithaa's relationship with her lover/mentor MG Ramachandran (played by Aravind Swami) and her iron-fistedness with the party workers. 

Jayalalithaa's comparison of her infamous disrobing to Draupathi's in Mahabharatham is also highlighted in the video. Thalaivi is directed by A.L. Vijay and is scheduled to release in theaters on April 23, 2021.
