Shakeela is a name that needs no introduction especially down South and the once adult star's life is being brought on-screen this Christmas day via a movie titled Shakeela. The trailer of the film which is headlined by Richa Chaddha and has Pankaj Tripathi in an equivalent role dropped today and can be viewed here:

As revealed in her biopic, Chennai born Shakeela was fatherless and had seven siblings to take care of when her mother forced her into prostitution at the tender age of 17. She was only 18 when she appeared alongside Silk Smitha in PlayGirls in 1995 and continued her adult-film career thereon.

Shakeela was such a rage at one point that South movie stars had to ban the release of her film in theaters just so her film collections would not eat into the mainstream box-office. Her on-screen story is directed by Kannada director Indrajit Lankesh and the movie is expected to be dubbed in all South Indian languages.
