William Shakespeare's shortest play The Comedy of Errors was adapted into a movie in Hindi in 1982 called Angoor. Written and directed by Gulzar, the story followed two pairs of identical twins who are separated at birth and chaotically get involved in their adulthood. [Comedy of Errors, written by Gulzar was also made as Do Dooni Char in 1963 by a different director].

Now, the famous play is all set to get a modern movie adaptation as it has been officially announced that director Rohit Shetty and actor Ranveer Singh are teaming up for the same. Titled Cirkus, the movie stars Pooja Hegde and Jacqueline Fernandez as female leads and will be produced by T-Series and Reliance Entertainment.

Cirkus is expected to go on floors from November, 2020 and will be shot in Mumbai, Ooty, and Goa. Varun Sharma, Siddhartha Jadhav, Johnny Lever, Sanjay Mishra, Vrajesh Hirjee, Vijay Patkar, Sulbha Arya, Mukesh Tiwari, Anil Charanjeett, Ashwini Kalsekar and Murli Sharma will be seen in supporting roles in the movie.
