Kabir Khan directed 83 which has Ranveer Singh play cricketer Kapil Dev was recently in the news for considering a direct OTT release; however makers of the film refuted the rumours stating that they are willing to wait till normalcy returns and have a theatrical release first. Nevertheless, it has been confirmed that OTT platform Netflix has bagged the streaming rights of the movie in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil languages. 

Based on India's World Cup win in 1983, 83 also stars Deepika Padukone as Kapil's wife Romi Dev and will be presented by Reliance Entertainment. The film was originally slated for a release on April 10, 2020 but got delayed due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
