Dhanush's rural revenge drama Asuran directed by Vetrimaaran has received raving reviews from all quarters and has turned out to be a commercial success at the Box Office as well. The film which was also praised by many film celebrities including Kamal Haasan, Mahesh Babu and Karan Johar is set to be remade in Telugu.

Victory Venkatesh is all set to play the lead role in the Telugu remake of Asuran. The film will be produced by S Thanu, who bankrolled the original film, along with Suresh Babu. The details of the cast and crew is yet to be announced. The film will mark Venkatesh's 74th film. His upcoming film 'Venky Mama' in which he's sharing the screenspace with his nephew Naga Chaitanya is expected to hit the screens in December.
