While it is not uncommon in Bollywood for star kids to follow the footsteps of their parents and pursue acting as a career, looks like Aamir Khan's daughter Ira Khan is not keen on acting. She has chosen direction as her career. On choosing direction over acting, Ira in an interview has said, "It was never really a choice between directing or acting. I’ve always wanted to make the movie rather than be in it." 

Ira Khan is getting ready for her first theatre production titled 'Euripides Medea'. Her play with a Greek tragedy storyline will have its premiere in selected Indian cities in December. According to reports, Ira has already commenced work on her directorial and the rehearsals for the play will be starting soon in Mumbai itself.

About her play, Ira Khan has said, "The original was staged in 431 BC. I’m pretty sure my version of the play is slightly different in its presentation. To me, theatre brings a sense of majesty to the intimacy and involvement that comes with a great story-telling. That’s the kind of play I hope to direct.”
