Karan Johar’s next directorial Takht featuring Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Anil Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar in lead roles will have the shoot commencing from February 2020. While the director’s last outing Ae Dil Hai Mushkil happened before 3 years, there has been a long wait for this film to go on floors.
The reason behind the delay is that the makers wanted a long continuous call sheet of these actors, who are quite busy with many films. It is now confirmed that the shoot will start from February 2020 and will be wrapped up in a single stretch followed by theatrical release in the same year itself.
Right now, the actors are going through acting workshops to adapt the body language, mannerisms and diction of the ancient era. Apart from this, Karan Johar has decided to proceed with the post-production works simultaneously so that the film gets released on time as planned.
Ranveer Singh and Vicky Kaushal are indulged in heavy dieting and workout to exhibit leaner looks while Anil Kapoor will be seen hefty. The film is set against the backdrops of Mughal era, where Anil Kapoor plays Shah Jahan and his sons’ role by Vicky Kaushal (Aurangazeb) and Ranveer (Dara Shikoh), who get into war for the sake of power. Kareena Kapoor will seen playing the role of Aurangazeb’s sister.
