Rana Daggubati and Sai Pallavi are teaming up for the first time for a period drama titled 'Virata Parvam.' The film has been formally launched with a pooja ceremony on Saturday in Hyderabad. The event was attended by producer Suresh Babu and actor Venkatesh. While Venkatesh clapped the first shot, Suresh Babu handed over the script to director Venu Udugala. The film is expected to go on floors in July.

Virata Parvam is a period film, which is predominantly a romantic film with many action sequences. Rana Daggubati has gone through a tremendous physical transformation and has lost enormous weight for his role. The film is produced by D Suresh Babu and Sudhakar Cherukuri. The technical team includes Divakar Mani for cinematography, Suresh Bobbili for music and art director Nagendra.
