Mardaani, a 2014 crime drama is a Pradeep Sarkar directorial that revolved around child trafficking and featured actress Rani Mukerji in the role of a senior inspector of the crime branch. Now, a sequel to this film has been confirmed and Mardaani 2 is all set to go on floors in 2019 and release in the latter half of the same year.

Mardaani 2 will be directed by Gopi Puthran who scripted the original movie and the sequel will be produced by Yash Raj Films, who produced the prequel movie as well.
