Filmmaker Ashutosh Gowarikar is currently gearing up for his next period drama 'Panipat'. Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Kapoor and Kriti Sanon are all set to star in the high-octane period film which is based on the third battle of Panipat. ‘Panipat’ is slated to release on December 6, 2019. The movie will be going on floors in mid-2018. The pre-production work is happening in full swing.

Music composer duo Ajay-Atul have been brought on board to score the music for Panipat. The duo are already scoring the music for Aamir Khan's "Thugs of Hindostan", ShahRukh Khan's Zero and Hrithik Roshan's "Super 30".
